The inspiration for the giant Tupelo guitar sculpture, the 6ft tall metal guitar statues that line downtown Tupelo's Main Street, are scaled models of Elvis' first guitar from the Tupelo Hardware Co. store, and were painted by students from the Tupelo Public School District.
